In this course, you'll explore the human figure by focusing on the interplay of light and shadow, learning techniques to bring depth, volume, and emotion to your paintings. Eudes's signature loose strokes, fluid transparency, and technical mastery will help you capture the beauty and complexity of the human form with elegance and depth. Whether you're a beginner or an experienced artist, this workshop offers valuable insights to elevate your watercolor skills and deepen your understanding of light, shadow, and human anatomy.
FIRST DAY
Understanding about materials:
- Pencil and graphite intensity
-Type of brushes and functions of each one of them
-Type of ideal palette and how to organize colors
-Important auxiliary materials.
Basic notion of drawing:
-Volume
-Perspective
-Light and shadow
-Contrast
Studying watercolor:
-Tonal value
-Gradient
-Connection of colors
Demo of a head applying all the information from the class of the day
-First Eudes paints and explains
-Then the students paint with Eudes' orientation
SECOND DAY
Study of human anatomical knowledge with watercolor
-Understanding a 3D face
-Understanding the volumes of a face
-Skin color study
-Understanding shadows and projected shadows
-Soft and hard shadow
-Variation of color tones
Demo of a head applying all the information from the class of the day
-First Eudes paints and explains
-Then the students paint with Eudes' orientation
THIRD DAY
Composition
Movement and body expression
-Composition of a work
-Different ways of composition to tell a story
-Movement and body expression
-Important points to note in an expressive painting
I paint my watercolors in 2 layers.
During my class demonstrations, I make the first layer and then the students paint the first layer. Then I paint the second and last layer and then the students paint it after.

Palette Colours
I have all these colors in my palette, the first ones are essential for my work and the others I don't use very often.
THIS ONE ARE ESSENCIAL:
1- Payne ́s gray
2- Cobalt blue
3- Ultramarine or French ultramarine
4- Cobalt Turquoise light
5- Cadmiun free Lemon yellow or limon yellow 6- Cadmiun Orange
7- Cadmiun Red
8- Alisarin Crimson
9- Permanent Mauve
THIS I USE BUT NOT ALWAYS:
10- Winsor Violet
11- Phitalo turquoise 12- Acqua green or
13- Transparent Yellow 14- Cerulean blue
15- Sépia
All the colors I use are from Winsor & Newton.
You can use other brands, however it is not certain that the colors will have the same tone that I use.
Nature hair and synthetic
You can use Nature hair or Synthetic hair. Or you can mix both.
These are the brushes I use.
NATURE HAIR
-Petit gris Squirrel - number 6 - Winsor & Newton - Round Peels - Kolinsky
Number 3, 6, 8 and 10 - Winsor & Newton - Serie 7
SYNTHETIC
-Flat brush - One stroke 15mm and 19mm Cotman Synthetic)
-Tank 40 and 60mm – Liquitex (for acrilic paint.)
If you have one similar to this one,
but a different brand, you can use too.
